What is the Flotespace COVID-19 policy?
Reduced capacity on boats
Due to government regulations, boats are currently operating at a reduced capacity calculated on a square metre (sqm2) basis and the layout of the boat. Please check with our team for the current capacity of your preferred boat.
In the event of a lockdown
In most cases, boats are offering a free reschedule for a 12 month period. Please also note seasonal pricing may affect the reschedule.
Making a booking
How much does it cost to hire a boat?
All prices shown on Flotespace website are the base rates for each boat. To get an estimate of what your boat will cost based on your unique requirements, please send a quick enquiry to our team.
The captain and fuel are included in the vessel hire price. Sometimes there are additional extras that are included for individual boat charters and these will be itemised for you when we provide you with a quote.
How do I book a boat?
Chat to our team! Once we’ve found the right boat for you, to secure the booking we take a 50% deposit of the total cost of the vessel hire (unless otherwise specified). The rest of the payment is due 14 days prior to the boat charter. We will also require final guest numbers and food and beverage requirements on this date.
What ways can I pay?
Payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, debit card or EFT.
Can I do an inspection of the boat?
We welcome the opportunity to show you around your preferred boat. Most of our vessels are easily accessible for inspections, however this is subject to availability. Some of the smaller boat rental vessels kept on moorings may not be viewed as easily. Please ask our friendly team for more information on boat inspections.
Can I bring my own DJ?
Most boats allow DJ's, however please check that your preferred boat has the correct generator or power source options available.
Can guests be picked up from multiple spots?
Additional wharf pick ups and drop offs are generally allowed pending the availability of the wharf. Please note that this incurs an additional cost (typically $50 per wharf).
Do all boats have float toys available?
Most boats have access to float toys which can be provided at an additional cost (typically between $50-$100).
On the day of your booking
Can I board the boat early to set up?
We are usually able to arrange an early boarding time to set up or decorate the boat, provided that the boat is available to do so. Please note this is arranged on a case by case basis with the boat owner.
How long do we have to board the boat?
15 minutes is the allocated timeframe for pick-up and drop-off for most boats.
Can we play our own music?
Absolutely! Most boats have bluetooth and AUX style connections for smartphones and other devices. Talk with our friendly team today if you are after a bigger sound system and music is important to you.
Are cutlery, cups and plates provided?
Most boats will provide basic utensils, however please note some boats require you to bring your own. Please check with our team when making your booking.
Are we allowed to swim?
With prior request, most boats will find a perfect swimming location for you. Please let our friendly team know if watersports such as paddle boarding and swimming is something you're interested in.
What if the weather is bad?
If boating conditions are unsafe as determined by the charter boat operator and Flotespace, we will offer a 12-month voucher equal to the value of your charter which you can use to reschedule your charter, subject to availability. Please contact us if you would like further information.
What age must guests be to consume alcohol during the booking?
Will I get seasick?
Most Flotespace bookings occur in sheltered waters. Boats will generally only encounter swell when heading out into open waters.
Most boats will have seasickness tablets available, but it is highly recommended to purchase your own prior to the cruise in order for them to be effective. Follow the manufacturers guidelines and as always ask for advice from our friendly team if unsure.
Do we need to wear lifejackets?
All boats will be equipped with lifejackets. If you have young children who cannot swim, it is highly recommended and advised. We also recommend that you provide your own lifejacket if you have any doubt or concerns.
Will there be a first aid kit on board?
All our boats are legally required to carry a First Aid Kit in case of an emergency. Defibrillators and any other bigger medical devices may vary from boat to boat. If you require any particular medical supplies, please bring this with you on the day of the charter and don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
Is the boat crew trained to assist in case of an emergency?
If there are any emergencies on the day, the captain and crew on board every vessel are certified and can conduct first aid processes.
What is Flotespace's Cancellation Policy?
If a host needs to cancel a booking
If a host has to cancel a booking for any reason, Flotespace will endeavour to find a replacement boat of similar style and capacity to complete the charter. If Flotespace is unable to find a replacement boat, guests are entitled to a full refund.
Alternatively, Flotespace offers a 12 month voucher equal to the value of your booking which you can use to reschedule your experience, subject to availability.
If a guest needs to cancel a booking
More than 60 days prior: Deposit will be refunded less a $500 management fee if another booking is secured for the same date and time for the same value. If another booking is not secured, the deposit is not refundable.
Between 60-28 days prior: Deposit is non-refundable.
28 – 14 days prior: Total monies paid are not refundable. Consideration will be given to food, staff and boat costs incurred due to cancellation.
14 days prior: Full payment is non-refundable.
